Ginger Book Geek  ‘The Harbour Master’s Daughter’ is well written.   The author certainly knows how to grab your attention from the start and draw you into what proves to be a compelling read.  This was somewhat of an emotional read as I felt myself going through the various emotions that the different characters were going through.

Ginger Book Geek Tania certainly knows how to grab your attention and draw you into one hell of an emotional tale and then some, which will tug on even the hardest of heartstrings.  Tania writes so realistically and convincingly that I felt myself going through every emotion that Elizabeth was going through.

Bookish Jottings  Tania Crosse’s The River Girl is everything readers could possibly want from a historical saga and so much more besides. With a courageous heroine who never falters even when all the odds are stacked against her, vivid period descriptions of the Victorian era and plenty of drama, passion and emotion to keep readers absolutely riveted to the page.

Love Books Actually  Set in beautiful Devon in 1867, Tania’s writing style is truly wonderful. Her descriptions of Devon really did set the scene and had me hooked until the very end. An emotional read that had me on the edge of my seat throughout, I absolutely hated having to put this down.

Dartmoor, 1858. Elizabeth Thornton has every reason to want to escape from home — a ramshackle farm in the middle of nowhere on the wilds of Dartmoor. Since her father’s death, she’s been trapped here, in the clutches of her lascivious uncle. When a position opens up at Rosebank Hall, she jumps at the chance. She will be a domestic drudge at the beck and call of the house’s cantankerous master. It’s hardly the career of her dreams. Elizabeth wants to be a doctor, but she’ll do anything to be free of her uncle. Then one night, the master’s wayward son turns up, wounded in a conflict in a foreign country — damaged in every way a person can be. But as Elizabeth nurses him back to life, the pair grow closer and everything changes. But Elizabeth’s uncle isn’t ready to relinquish her yet . . . Will she keep on fighting for her freedom? Even with her dark past nipping at her heels? (you can read my review post here: The River Girl blog tour post)
