JOFFE BOOKS: What the Bloggers & Readers think. Day 22: Joanna Larum’s Reviews. #TeamJoffeBooks

Today in the spotlight on my Joffe Books Rolling Blog is Joanna Larum.  Joanna doesn’t have a blog but joins the Blog Tours via Goodreads and other Social Media platforms and we love having her as a part of Team Joffe Books.  You can read Joanna’s reviews via this link Joanna Larum’s Reviews

Joanna LarumHello. could you tell us a little about yourself

I worked for North Yorkshire County Library service for 26 years, learning a lot about people’s tastes in books. I have always loved to introduce other people to the books I like and, being able to review new books meant I could spread that to a wider audience.

How long have you been reading and reviewing books?

I began reviewing books in October last year.

When did you start joining Blog Tours and why?

I began blog tours in October last year because I loved the idea of sharing to so many people.

Do you join blog tours for a lot of publishers?

I mainly do only Joffe blog tours although I am doing a few non-Joffe in the near future.

What do you think of the books Joffe publish are they usually good, average, bad?

Joffe books, I have found, are ALWAYS good. I have never read one which I wouldn’t recommend to other readers. I have a saying – ‘If it’s a Joffe book it will be a fantastic read.’

Joffe Books is run differently to other publishers is the short notice of book releases a problem?

No, not a problem at all. I fully agree with the policy of immediate launching and blogging. The blogger doesn’t get the chance to forget that they have a book to read. You read it and review it immediately. It works well for me, especially as I now have so many favourite authors in Joffe books. I want to read and review immediately. I don’t want to have to wait!

Some Bloggers leave room for Joffe Books are you one of those? If so why?

I always have room for Joffe books (see above) – if it’s Joffe it’s great!

Joffe Books has a launch team that get together in a virtual party setting and many of the authors support each other and chat with the readers and bloggers. Do you think this is a good idea?  If so why?

Fabulous idea! It makes it easy for readers to chat to the authors and ask any questions or even suggest something! I told TJ Brearton that I didn’t understand all of the American words he uses and he said he might put the glossary at the front of the book rather than the back so that readers can check it easily. Brilliant idea for a xenophobe like me!

Have you ever gone to a Joffe Launch Party?  What do you think of them?

Oh yes. I love Joffe launch parties! They are well-organised, interesting, often mind-blowingly fast and great fun! I end up howling with laughter. Best fun I’ve had in years!

Do you think the Joffe Blog Tour experience could be improved? If so what would you recommend?

I don’t have an answer for this. How can you improve something which works so well? Could be dangerous to tinker with perfection!

Is there anything else you would like to say about Joffe Books, their authors or Social Media Promoter?

Yes, I would like to say that Joffe books publish ONLY wonderful books, books so gripping that I can miss meals and sleep because I am reading them, The blog tours are a delight to do and the parties! Well, the parties are a whirl of witty conversations, puzzles and prizes with a group of people (authors and readers) who now have a deep regard and respect for each other and have become close friends. The publication side is run like a military manoeuvre by a man who is unfailingly polite and committed to his authors and readers and the social media side is run by a lady who is the epitome of organisation and yet is such a warm and caring individual who cares about every single person be they an author or a reader. She is the lynch-pin on which the company revolves. Who wouldn’t want to be part of it?
