Paul Southern: Daddy Dearest

Daddy DearestDaddy Dearest by Paul Southern

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I received a free copy of this book from Booklover Catlady in return for an honest review.

I live by the mantra ‘if you cant say anything good don’t say anything’ and I cant with any honesty say I loved this book, it just didnt work for me. On the other hand some will find it a very good read.

It is obvious that the author has put a lot of effort into this short book/novella it is written to a good standard. The copy I received was not formatted properly but it was an ARC so this will, hopefully, be rectified in the published version.

The story is about a little girl who goes missing in a lift, or does she? I don’t want to give any spoilers or rewrite the synopsis and this is a short book so that is all I will say on the story.

There are many twists and turns which some will find adds to the suspense but it all seemed a bit far fetched to be realistic.

There was not much depth to the character and if I am honest I found the whole book a bit childish and more likely to appeal to readers of Young Adult Fiction rather than thrillers.
