This is book 3 in the Jessica Daniels series and this, along with the previos books, was written in 2011. There is a note from the author at the end explaining that Jessica character matures in future books which can only be a good thing as a found her a little immature for a Police detective. She is inclined to act first and think later which often lands her in difficult situations at work but also with friends and colleagues. However there is something about Jessica’s character that you can’t help loving. Dave and Izzy share the limelight in this book and develop into realistic characters.
There are 2 main cases in this story a missing politicians wife which is being led by Jason and Jessica’s case which is another missing person case but with this one body parts are left in public places. Both teams struggle to make headway and he reader is left guessing utility the very end where there is a humongous twist.
I found the book to be a bit long winded with a lot of descriptive padding but it has enough going on to keep the reader turning page after page.
