I believe this is the first book by Liz Mistry which is difficult to believe given how gripping it is.

The story begins 12 years ago when a lady discovers her husband is a paedophile and reports him. This sets in motion a chain of events that cannot be stopped resulting in the dismantling of a child trafficking/paedophile ring. Unfortunately the ring leaders were not revealed and were free to rebuild.

The main character is Gus McGuire who was badly injured trying to prevent his schizophrenic friend from committing murder. Being unable to prevent the deaths leaves Gus with post-traumatic stress and he is trying to persuade the force psychiatrist to sign him fit for work. His team also play a big part in this book and are made up of some unique characters and the dynamics of the team are also unique.

It is a very complex story with many strands intertwined to make up a very gripping, adrenaline filled book that has the reader turning page after page well into the night.

Liz, very compassionately, discussed the issue of child trafficking and abuse as the past and the present merge and revenge rears its ugly head with devastating results and the reader is introduced to a world where things are not always as they seem and the suspense and intrigue build slowly throughout the book to finish with a real curve ball ending that nobody saw coming.

This is an excellent book and I will be reading the next book, Uncoiled Lies that is released on 26/01/2017.

Liz Mistry is a name we will be hearing more of in the future.

Unfortunately this book has not been effectively proof read and there are an above average number of errors which lost it a couple of points but it still earns a good 4.8 points.

Thank you to Bloodhound Books for providing me with an ARC of this book in return for an honest review.
