My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This is the 2nd book in the Evie Black series and brings further depth to Evie’s character as she finds her feet in New York as editor of Vision magazine.
She is forced to work with Nick, who has transferred from Washington to New York to work a story with Evie.
The relationship between Evie and Nick is strained as neither wants to share the case. However, as they find themselves dragged into dangerous situations they find a way to make the relationship work.
Working together to hunt down a murderer, known as Black Widow, who is leaving a trail of bodies accross the state and Evie links up with a detective she got to know in a previous case as Nick and Evie find themselves entangled in the dangerous world of Drug dealers.
Evie was first introduced in the Mason Black series as Mason’s sister and this series builds upon that series very successfully.
The book has many twists and turns and, as I have come to expect from Adam, the stories are realistic to the extent there isn’t always a happy ending.
I am looking forward to more books from this very talented author.
