Today I would like to introduce you to the DI Harriet Taylor series by Stewart Giles as part of my Joffe Books Blog Event. There are currently 2 books released in this series (book 3 is on the way). This series is slightly different. As well as being a Police Procedural it has Black Humour running through it which makes it very unique but also very addictive. You will soon find yourself eagerly awaiting the next book as I am. You have a little time to get caught up before Book 3 is released.

A shocking discovery starts a trail of mayhem on the Cornish coast.
Alice Green is a beekeeper in the small Cornish village of Polgarrow. One evening, Alice finds something strange under the hollyhock bush in her garden. The gruesome discovery will change everyone’s lives.
Detective Harriet Taylor has just transferred to the area from Edinburgh. As she investigates a series of shocking crimes, she grows close to the old beekeeper and is determined to bring the murderer to justice.
A crime mystery with a streak of black humour. You’ll enjoy this fast-paced and dark unearthing of the underbelly of a sleepy Cornish village.

What the readers think:
I felt the story flowed really well and it also didn’t feel rushed like some stories can. The story also isn’t a gritty murder mystery more a light hearted story with people being killed along the way. It definitely isn’t a whodunit as I worked it out very early on but more of a why they dunnit, if that is such a thing. Simon @ Black Books Blog
It was great to be able to follow an investigation from the start to its conclusion and be able to see the ins and outs of a police investigation. The author includes descriptions of how the police get to their conclusions and how they conduct their investigations which was fascinating to read about. Joanne @ Over the Rainbow Book Blog
I particularly liked the character of Harriet, I found her well-rounded and well written. If she was real, I could certainly see me being a friend of hers! The smaller characters were all well thought out and added to the plot. Sheila @ The Quiet Geordie
I devoured this beauty in a few hours. What I thought was going to be a bit of light reading got darker and with seemingly endless twists and turns I was unable to put it down. Liza @ Turn the Page
I have been so looking forward to reading this book and although it is a murder mystery it made me smile over and over again. I couldn’t help it, I just took to Alice Green, the beekeeper, from the start. I really don’t think there is much of a mystery to the killer it is more of a journey to discover why rather than who.
