The Night Bird by Brian Freeman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Rating 4.9 stars. Read 15/01/2017-17/01/2017
This was a Kindle First book and I was very pleased to have the chance to read and review this book in advance of publication.
I was introduced to this Author and book via Kindle First and I am very glad I was because this is a very good unputdownable psychological thriller.
It is very well written and leads the reader through the story introducing the characters and building depth in them gradually throughout the book. I especially like the way the scenes are described so you can picture it in your mind but Brian manages this without great chunks of descriptive text. The suspense starts on page 1 and builds gradually through the book to the shocker of an ending.
Frost is the main character and is living with a personal trauma which makes him the Police Officer he is and that is a compassionate focussed detective who is determined to catch and prosecute the bad people of the world. His character is well built throughout the book.
I found this book to be very gripping and just kept turning the pages. It is a unique story that is based around psychology and hypnosis. I suppose that if you don’t believe in the power of Hypnosis on memory and the way the mind processes thoughts then this book may not work for you. I don’t have any reason not to believe and therefore this story really gripped me.
There are twists and turns throughout the book and the reader is kept guessing right to the ending which is a real curve ball the reader wont see coming.
Well worth the 5 stars I am hoping for more in this series.
