Time to Play by K.A. Richardson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This is Book 3 in the North East Police series and is every bit as gripping as Book 2. My actual rating is 4.6 stars rounded to 5
This book features Ali and Marlo who both have baggage they are trying to deal with. There are 2 police cases and the story is told from the perspective of several people. There are twists and turns all the way through and a sex scene which I think brought nothing to the story so I skimmed over it (as I usually do)
The characters are fully rounded and very realistic and the book is a gripping page turner. However, I did feel it was a bit too ‘samey’. In book 2 there were 2 people with baggage from the past that were used to bring a personal and romantic aspect to the story and this book repeated that albeit with 2 different people. Also the 2 cases being linked is getting a bit old.
Also in book 2 there were some loose threads that I thought would be tied up in this book but they weren’t which was disappointing.
I am not sure if the author plans any further books in this particular series but I probably wont read them however, I will probably read some of the other series.
