The Car Bomb (The detroit im dyin Trilogy, Book 1)The Car Bomb by T.V. LoCicero

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The book starts with the Car Bomb which kills a mother and 2 young children while their friends and neighbours are watching. With such a fast paced start I think I may have been expecting too much from this book as I felt a little flat when the pace slowed.

It is different as it is based around the life of a news reporter and therefore lacks a lot of the investigative processes that are usually found in thrillers.

Frank is the main character character and is a very unlikeable character with a wife and mistress yet still finds time to play around further. A good attempt has been made to build his character but it still feels a bit shallow and unrealistic.

Overall the book is well written but has very short chapters, many of which are only a page or 2, which has resulted in a 220 page book with 100 chapters and that is a bit OTT for me.u

It is a decent read and an unusual story.

I was provided with a free copy of this book in return for an honest review.
