Minka Kent: The Memory Watcher

The Memory WatcherThe Memory Watcher by Minka Kent

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

My 5* review of The Memory Watcher – Read 04/01/2017 – 06/01/2017

This is the first book, by Minka Kent, that I have read and I was very impressed.

This book could come under many genres including Thriller, Psychological Thriller, Medical Thriller, Contemporary Fiction. It is a totally unique story with many twists and turns and totally jaw dropping ending. It may lack the adrenaline pumping thrills of some thrillers but it makes up for it in intrigue and suspense.

The story begins with Autumn who gave up a baby for adoption but spends her time tracking her lost baby and engineering her life to enable her to remain close by Grace’s new family.

It is a classic example of appearances being deceptive as the ‘perfect family’ turns out to be not as it seems.

Minka has created some wonderful characters in this book and they develop well throughout the book to become well rounded realistic people that the reader really gets to know.

Autumn is a classic example of a mother who regrets parting with her baby and is unable to move on. Any parent will be able to relate to Autumn who gave her baby the chance of a good life with financially secure professional parents but was unable to move on and lived her life around making sure her daughter was loved and cared for.

Daphne and Graham are the worlds perfect parents from all appearances but Graham sees other women and is portrayed as Alpha male, good looking charismatic with women falling at his feet while Daphne strives to be the perfect wife and mother hiding her unhappiness from everyone.

This is a well written, gripping book that has the reader turning page after page. I will be looking for more books by this author

I was honoured to receive a free copy of this book in return for an honest review
